The Human Element

The Human Element is a riveting and visually rich documentary featuring James Balog, that tells stories of climate change impact with compassion and heart. The movie explores the basic constituents of life – earth, air, water, and fire – and the relationships people have with climate change.

Pure Advantage first introduced the movie to New Zealand offering a free stream to audiences during October 2018, as well as facilitating a licensing arrangement by TVNZ On Demand  platform thereafter.

Climate Change is affecting people right here in Aotearoa New Zealand and Pure Advantage aims to start recording the journey. We invite audiences to contribute to this collection by sharing your story about climate change on your social media, any platform, anytime.

About the Producers

Pure Advantage

Pure Advantage functions as both a generator and communicator of knowledge, undertaking and supporting a variety of green growth-focused research activities and outputs. Through this work, we seek to disseminate cutting-edge theory and practice that will transform how New Zealanders understand and manage the relationship between the environment and the economy.

We advocate for economic models that generate both profitability and positive social and environmental outcomes. In promoting these models we seek to uphold the ethical imperatives of impact investment while also dispelling any lingering misconceptions around wealth creation and environmental protection being contradictory goals.
