I am a global change plant ecologist and conservationist, with a strong interest for high-elevation ecosystems. I use a variety of biological systems and combine field and greenhouse experiments and long-term data to investigate which and how biotic and abiotic factors drive plant species distribution and rarity at macro- and micro-scales. Based on the outcome of my research, I develop and guide biodiversity conservation strategies aimed at protecting endangered species, restoring ecosystems and their services, and repairing damage to local environments and human relationships.
